The Paleta Cafe & Wine bar is located inside an outlet center in Voderady (Slovakia). On this Cafe, pallets were used as wall decoration and shelves, designer Michael Staško created this interior.
Outlet shopping center is often seen as the cheapest form of luxury or sales presentation. That’s why Michael built the concept of simplicity/brutality through the use of upcycled pallets and others materials to break the outlet shopping center atmosphere.

I built this western themed pallet bar using three 48X40 pallets as the base and topped it with a 12″x2″ plank. I then added a shelf in the back with rustic decorations like a garden rake and shotgun shell rack.

I had an old coffee table glass top so I thought I would make a new bar table to go with it. Re-use of all old products and reclaimed pallet wood. Only thing new are the wheels.

I designed these on the fly. I incorporated other wood assembly techniques from other projects I had made from pallet wood. First I made one stool and decided to make a few changes. For example, my prototype stool had a seat that was a bit narrow. I decided to make the other three stools wider which made the stool more stable. I also decided that I liked the look of the nail heads and nails (hammered down) in the wood to give them the rustic flare I was looking for. By using a Sawzall, I cut the nails as opposed to the very labor intensive chore of removing the spiral nails in the disassembly of the pallets. Making one stool, including disassembling of the pallet and sanding took approximately 6-8 hours. The most difficult part was making the support pieces for the angled backs.

This saloon sign was made from left over scrap pallet wood. I also used rusty barbed wire I found in a field.

Used three standard pallets for the base, added a wood counter top. Painted the bottom fire engine red and the top a gloss white. Added accessories; bottle opener, towel hook, red rope light and first aid box spice holder.

I used the central space to make a storage box for the bar. A tray that fits perfectly into this space closes this storage. I added wheels for a practical and aesthetic side. It measures 87.8 cm wide and 50 cm high. You can find the step-by-step and detailed explanations for making it on Le blog de Béa.

J'ai profité de l'espace central pour faire un caisson de rangement pour le bar. Un plateau qui s'intègre parfaitement dans cet espace vient fermer ce rangement. J'ai ajouté des roulettes pour le côté pratique et esthétique. Elle mesure 87,8 cm de côté et 50 cm de hauteur.
